Luís D. es por así decirlo nuestro enviado de guerra a terrenos germanos, y desde el Mayday 2006.,celebrado en Dormund, quiso cubrír una entrevista con el músico Aksel Schaufler aka Superpitcher, uno de los artístas del cartel de esta edición..

1.¿Cómo nació su unión al sello Kompakt?

1.How did you become part of the Kompakt label team?

Bueno…. Yo he estado mezclando muchos años. En 1999 me mudé a KÃ¶ln para intentar cambiar mi vida. (risas) Allí fue Michael (Mayer) quien me propuso grabar. Así edité “Shadows”. En aquel tiempo pasábamos mucho tiempo escuchando buena música en Total Confusion.

Well… I’ve been DJing for many years. In 1999, I moved to Cologne in an attempt to change my life. (laughs) That’s where I met Michael (Mayer) who proposed me to record. And that’s how I edited “Shadows”.

-¿Entonces cree que para usted fue fácil?

-So, would you say it was easy for you?

Yo no he dicho eso. Creo que existía la posibilidad y simplemente pasó.

I wouldn’t say that. I think the possibility was there and it just happened.

2.¿Qué tipo de música pincha? ¿Se considera ecléctico?

What kind of music do you play?, would you consider yourself eclectic?

Es el sentimiento, no el tipo de música. Es el feeling lo que me guía. Yo pongo todo aquello que me llega. Eso es lo que le pido a mi música. Debe llegar a la gente. ¿Ecléctico? Supongo que sí porque no quiero escuchar un único tipo de música.

It’s the feeling, not the type of music. The feeling is what guides me. I play everything that touches me. And that’s what I intend with my music. It must reach people. Eclectic? I guess so, because I don’t want to listen to a single type of music.

3.¿Cúal es su artista preferido?

What’s your favorite artist?

No tengo artista preferido y mis influencias son muchas.

I don’t have a favorite artist and my influences are many.

-Bueno…. ¿alguién que le guste de Kompakt?

Well…. anyone from Kompakt that you like?

Hay muchos buenos, aunque no tengo preferido. Se me ocurre, por ejemplo, Koze.

There are many good ones, but I don’t have a favorite one. I could think about Koze, for instance.

4.¿Para cuándo un live show? ¿Lo hace actualmente?

When a live act? Do you currently do them?

No lo hago, pero si lo he pensado. Para hacerlo bien hay que estar preparado. Supongo que en un futuro.

I don’t, but I have thought about it. You have to be prepared to do it well. I guess I’ll do it in the future.

5.Nosotros venimos de España. ¿Le gusta actuar en nuestro país?

We come from Spain. Do you like playing there?

Me encanta España. Sí, claro que me gusta. Estuve allí hace dos semanas y voy a volver muy pronto. ¿De dónde sois?

I love Spain. Yes, of course I like it. I was there two weeks ago and I’ll go back very soon. Where about in Spain? -De Sevilla. From Sevilla.¡Ah, Sevilla! Muy bonita. Oh, Sevilla! Very beautiful.

-¿Qué le parece el público español? What do you think about the Spanish audience?

Creo que muchos han sabido apreciar nuestra música. Eso me gusta.

I think many people there appreciate our music. I like that.

6.¿Qué opinión le merece la escena actual de música en la red o NetLabels?

What’s your opinion about the current music scene in the net, or NetLabels?

Bueno…. supongo que existen muchas cosas interesantes y hay gente buena. Pero no me gusta nada la música basura (fastmusic) y desgraciadamente abunda. La música buena debe llegar, da igual de donde venga.

Well, I guess there are loads of interesting stuff there as well as good artists. But I hate bad music (fastmusic) and unfortunately there’s plenty of that too. Music must reach people, wherever it comes from.
