Una vez más, la celebración de Territorios nos dio la oportunidád de encontrarnos con una gran figura de la música electrónica a nivel internacional, nada menos que Jimmy Edgar..

-Para empezar,nos gustaría saber cómo defines tu música: Hip Hop, Idm, Experimental, Detroitâ€¦

Realmente no defino mi música, sólo la hagoâ€¦Intento hacer que sea mía propia, que tenga mi propio estilo.

-¿Cúales fueron tus raíces? Es decir,¿qué artistas te inspiraron a hacer tu música?

Solía escuchar a Prince, Kraftwerkâ€¦Me encantaba Juan Atkins y cualquier sonido r&b o funk.

-¿Cúando comenzó WARP a estar interesado en ti?

Escucharon algunos de mis trabajos más antiguos y les gustaron, asi que me buscaron y firmé para ellos.

-¿Tienes especial admiración por algún artista en concreto?

Desafortunadamente, no escucho mucha música en este momento. Cuando no la estoy haciendo, sólo disfruto. Escucho demasiada música cuando viajo, que es algo que disfruto mucho, ya que me encanta viajar.

-Cuando estás produciendo, ¿qué secuenciador e instrumentos usas? ¿Podrías explicarnos tu modo de producir?

Me gusta más el hardware, porque pienso que le da más carácter a la música. Creo que el software siempre tiene el mismo sonido, carece de alma,por lo quees más dificil personalizar tu música y crear tu sonido

-¿Conoces los netlabels? ¿Cúal es tu opinión sobre ellos?

Creo que son maravillosos y que la música debería ser gratuita. Si fuera por mí, haria mi música gratis, pero desafortunadamente tengo un contrato.

-En menos de dos años has firmado con WARP( uno de nuestros sellos favoritos) ,has lanzado cuatro cortes e irás a Sonar este añoâ€¦¿Ha afectado la fama a tu vida normal?

Simplemente la ignoro. Me encanta producir sólo por el hecho de hacer música, no para ser famoso.

-Si tuvieras que aconsejar a alguien que se quiera promocionar en este mundo, ¿qué le recomendarías?

No sé, porque realmente no tengo trato con el negocio de la música, pero creo que es mejor producir y enviar música a otros sellos.

I really donÂ´t define my music actually…I just do it…I just try to make it my own, making it personally mine.

Which were your roots? That is,which artists inspired you to produce your music? Well, I used to listen Prince, Kraftwerk…And I was very fond of Juan Atkins and any early r&b or funk sound.

When did WARP become to be interested in you?

When they heard some of my early work,they liked it and they sought me out and signed me.

Do you have a special admiration for a concrete artist?

I honestly donÂ´t listen to much music these days,unfortunately. When IÂ´m not making it I just play,enjoy..I hear too much when I travel and I enjoy it. I really enjoy travelling.

When you are producing…which sequencer do you use and what instruments? Could you explain to us the way in which you produce?

IÂ´m more into hardware…Different hardware gives you more character. I think that software always has the same sound of a clean digital soundcard, it lacks soul.

Do you know net-labels? WhatÂ´s your opinion about them?

I think theyÂ´re great, I think music should be free. If it were up to me I would make my music for free,but unfortunately IÂ´m in contract.

In less than two years you have signed with WARP(one of our favourite labels), youÂ´ve released four tracks and will go to Sonar this year…Has fame affected your ordinary life?

I ignore it…I love to make music just for making music,not to be famous.

If you were to give advice to someone in order to be promoted…what would you recommend to us?

I donÂ´t really know because I donÂ´t deal with the music business,but I think itÂ´s better to produce because performing is not the same as producing. I would say keep producing and send music out to other labels.
